The citizens of Goodman are serviced by two wells. The City is also serviced by a sewer treatment plant.  Water, sewer and trash service are provided and billed on one City Utility Bill.

Deposits for service are as follows:

     Owner:               $45.00 plus $5.00 connection fee.

     Renter:              $95.00 plus $5.00 connection fee.

A few residences in town are serviced by private septic systems and are not serviced by city sewer.  The deposits for those are as follows:

     Owner:               $20.00 plus $5.00 connection fee.

     Renter:              $45.00 plus $5.00 connection fee.

Water bills are mailed by the 1st of the month and are due by 10:00 a.m. on the 16th. After 10:00 a.m. on the 16th of every month, a 10% late charge is added.  Any accounts that remain unpaid on the fourth Monday of the month are shut off and a $25.00 reconnect fee will be added to the account.  The bill must be paid in full before service is turned on again.

The City Code that regulates billing is as follows:

Section 705.130.   Bills. [Ord. No. 91 §13, 3-28-1967; Ord. No. 2007-392 §1, 11-5-2007; Ord. No.2010-422 §1, 1-5-2010]

Bills will be rendered for service by the first (1st) day of the month following that in which the service was rendered as set forth in the rate schedule. Service bills not paid by the sixteenth (16th) of the month shall be subject to a ten percent (10%) late charge. Failure of  the municipality to submit a service bill shall not excuse the water user from his/her obligation to pay for the water used when the bill is submitted. Failure to pay a bill before the fourth (4th) Monday of the same month that the bill is rendered will result in immediate disconnection.

Section 705.140.   Reconnection Charges. [Ord. No. 91 §14, 3-28-1967]

The reconnection charge for restoration of service, if reconnection is authorized and approved under the provisions of the ordinances of the municipality after each suspension of service because of delinquent payment or for other infraction of these rules, shall be the unpaid amount plus a twenty-five dollar ($25.00) reconnection fee.
