February 17, 2011 the new generator was dedicated to the citizens of Goodman. A 100 KW generator valued at $35,000 was given to the Goodman Rural Fire Protection District by the Missouri Department of Conservation. About 50 hours of labor and $1000 was spent to clean, paint and mount the generator on a permanent pad at the School Street Well Pump.
This generator will run the well pump in the event of a power outage to ensure that water service is not interrupted. More importantly, the Fire District will have water to fill their tanker truck and the fire hydrants will continue to have water in case of a fire.
